Software Engineering Intern
Jun 2025 – Sep 2025Hatch Finance (London)
Shipped two customer-facing API endpoints on the payments platform team (Go + PostgreSQL). Cut p95 latency on a high-traffic read path by ~18% by adding caching and fixing an N+1 query. Wrote the integration tests that caught a regression before it reached staging, and left with a merged design doc for the follow-up change.
Undergraduate Teaching Assistant
Sep 2024 – PresentUniversity of Manchester — COMP16121
Run weekly lab sessions for ~40 first-year students learning Java and fundamentals. Mark coursework, hold office hours, and rewrite the lab notes whenever the same question comes up three times.
Hackathon Organiser

Helped run HackMCR 2024 (180 attendees). Owned sponsor outreach for two prizes, coordinated judging, and replaced the check-in spreadsheet with a Discord bot that cut registration chaos.

A Next.js + Django app that pulls module deadlines into one calendar with reminders. ~320 students at UoM signed up in the first term. Auth, ICS export, and a boring-but-reliable email digest.
rent-radar
↗Student lettings, mapped
Scrapes listings near campus, plots them on a map with commute time to uni, and flags suspiciously cheap ads. Built for housemates drowning in Facebook groups.

Small TypeScript + Postgres matching board for COMP students. Won 'Most Useful' at HackMCR 2024.
